We have this one growing happily in the border. It’s happy with our acidic soil but is not fussy about soil type. It benefits from the free-draining nature of our sloping site – it doesn’t like to be waterlogged. Apart from some bark mulch ahead of winter temperature drop we don’t give it any special protection.
