Digitalis purpurea monstrosa purple(Scrophulariaceae)

A very unusual Foxglove with an incredible, large, bowl shaped flower at the top of each flower spike. This unusual feature is caused by a genetic mutation which is not seen very often in nature. Flowers are usually purple or white, but shades of cream, pink and salmon may also appear.
