Miscanthus sinensis(Poaceae)

A clump-forming, deciduous perennial grass of variable size but can be up to 3m tall. Its upright to arching, linear, mid-green leaves are 1-2cm wide, characterised by a prominent silver-white midrib and turn yellow to pale brown from autumn into winter. Erect, airy, silvery to pale pink flower plumes held above the foliage are produced in late summer and autumn. We use this vigorous grass as screening for areas with the nursery gardens.
