Cara Tremayne, manager at Tantalus Plant nursery and Flower Farm, is a professional horticulturalist with an extensive background in horticulture, garden design, and training.
With over 20 years of experience working within the amenity horticulture industry in Ireland she is knowledgeable and has a diverse skillset. Cara’s educational background includes a First Class Honours Bachelor’s degree in Horticultural Science from Munster Technological University, a Diploma in Landscape & Garden Design from Limpert’s Academy of Design, and a FETAC 5 Horticulture certificate from Rossa College, Skibbereen. She has completed her Master’s degree in Biodiversity, Wildlife, and Ecosystem Health at the University of Edinburgh and holds sustainable, wildlife friendly practices as an integral part of nursery operations.
As manager of Tantalus Plant Nursery, Cara leads a team of dedicated professionals committed to producing a wide range of healthy, sustainably produced, entirely peat free plants which are both visually appealing and functional with a keen focus on plants for pollinating insects.
